Explore Wellington with one of our professional, local guides. Walking tours are a great way to orientate yourself in the worlds's most southern capital city! Explore it's history from the comfort of the city's streets. See Wellington's secret spots and hidden history while making sure you don't miss a thing. Wellington is famous for its unique and vibrant culture as well as its thriving bohemian lifestyle. The capital of New Zealand since 1865, much of Wellington's history is interwoven both with that of entire nation and the greater Pacific region beyond. Wellington is home to a great many of New Zealand's national treasures including many monuments and attractions covered on Wellington on Foot's Central City Tour.

Wellington on Foot operates everyday during the summer tourism season, beginning the second weekend of October and operating until the last weekend of March. Private Walking Tours can be organised any time of the year with 48 hours notice, by contacting [email protected].

The Legal Stuff:
Wellington's weather is famously changeable! Our tours operate rain, snow or shine so be sure to come dressed for the weather. Good walking shoes are highly recommended.
Our tour is 2 hours and 30 minutes around Central Wellington.  Beginning at Wellington I-Site and ending in Civic Square. The walk is easily accessible for all fitness levels.
No cloakroom facilities are available, please pack light for the day.
All tours are conducted IN ENGLISH. Please ensure care is taken and follow the instructions of the guides at all times. Wellington's streets can be very busy. Neither Wellington on Foot nor our guides are responsible for any personal loss or injury incurred during the tour.
Wellington on Foot and our guides reserve the right to refuse participation in the tour to any person at anytime, and for any reason.
For youth tickets (19 years of age and under), ID may be required to be presented for the purpose of confirming age.
Children under the age of 13 (inclusive) must be accompanied by a guardian at all times, but are welcome to join the tour at no charge. ID may be required for the purpose of confirming age.
